I mean, the KSP8 has limitations to their open processing architecture.but, I've never actually been able to find them, so.this one hovered around 10-15% every time I looked. Can't wait to play it connected to these sounds.

The SV1 was my favorite keybed I've ever played. Tempo knob syncs everything in the synth engines and drums and whatnot to the tempo. Don't love the way the "value" slider works, jumping to where you grab it rather than you having to get it to where the value already IS before it moves.I remember that was an option on the old VS1680-maybe there's an option to change that here. With dynamic sounds of course, they're not doing this, but still-I can't find fault with it.Ĭontrols, including the ribbon controller, joysticks, knobs, sliders.all mapped to really helpful things for real time manipulation. I know on the Cx3, they actually triggered at half press so that it felt like the real deal opening the tone wheel at the bottom of the throw.making up for the converter latency.

Sounds change without cutting off the last. Whole things responds like hardware should. No TouchWah plug in.nothing gets the funk on like a single button push on this guy. I've tried and can NOT get the Scarbee to do that. The Vox (Touch) Wah that's in the SV1 makes up for it. Very nice that the joystick flips the speed-you just hit it up.it latches even though the joystick returns to center.ĭrums.there are some really nice sounds in there.but, they are mapped SUPER weird.not sure how easy it is to remap.Cubase can do it, but.be nice to not have to use it, you know? Not BFD level stuff.but, nicely processed directs with some really open transparent cymbals.Ĭlav.the HD1 sample based clavs are good.not Scarbee level of nuance, though. The sliders are there and mapped to the drawbars, but man-that's like a rig for using in a pinch-not something I'd enjoy. I'm hoping the 88 note has some room somewhere. That's one drawback-there's no room on this guy FOR the drawbar controller to sit/mount. It's certainly brighter than my C3/122, but.I also want to take in my MIDI drawbar controller and see if they mapped it the same as Voce-one of the nice things about Kurzweil is that they did.I can literally plug my drawbar unit into the back and immediately control their organ modeling. What interesting is in all the demo clips, the organ sounds passable at best to me.to sit and play it? Sounds wonderful.

Not a synth guy-but, suffice to say there were some very musical "I could find a use for these" sounds.ī3= Cx3 engine is there and in full swing. Lots of wavestation evolving pad kind of stuff. The little I went through the synths.they sounded really fun.some old.some new.some in between. A good thing when we're talking about the king of cheese sounds like that! Which means they play less "snapshot like". Cool thing is that once it gets beyond the vintage tine/reeds, it actually has FM models to do every variation on FM pianos there can be-because it has all the controls they had. Well.yes, I can.the release samples weren't as "sticky" as Scarbee's but-again, I'll get into the engine. With the weighted 88 in front of me, I'll play with the engine and see if I can't lessen that.ĮP= dream. Hard to judge 100% on the unweighted, but the non looped streaming samples still have of some sort-maybe it's the way they mic'd the grands, but there's still a LOT of attack versus that sustain.

Likely the best FEELING synth I've played.ĪcPiano=best I've played in hardware. Didn't have time for them to unbox the 88.but, they did confirm it's the same keybed as the SV1. So, I got to play the unweighted 61 key this afternoon. New thread.rather than highjack Doug's thread about his sweet new ride.
